At some point we all start to notice a few lines and wrinkles starting to appear. Welcome or not, you're probably wondering what you can do get rid or at least keep them at bay. Medical microdermabrasion is a gentle exfoliation system which helps to balance problem complexions (acne prone skin, white heads/black heads, sun damaged, superfical age spots, oily, dry or patchy skin and superficial lines and wrinkles).
The Treatment:
Tiny sterile particles are used to exfoliate the top layer of the skin, which improved its tone and texture whilst enhancing the absorption of anti ageing and acne creams. The results are instant and, unlike chemical peels, Microdermabrasion does not usually require a preparation period prior to treatment and there's no downtime afterwards either. It sounds very compelling so we went to the Harley Medical Group to find out more. Watch this months treatment video to see exactly whats involved.
The procedure is performed by passing a hand-held medical device which uses a highly controlled flow of fine, medical grade crystals, over the skin. The results are immediate, and repeat treatments have long-term benefits for the skin. An initial course of 4 to 6 treatments is usually recommended, with top-up treatments recommended on an ongoing basis every 1-2 months. Microdermabrasion can be used on all skin types and across all age groups.
Cost:
One treatment costs around £95, with a course of 6 treatments costing £399, which is a considerable saving.
