Too much alchohol is definitely ageing - but its hard to avoid a drink or two during the festive season. So we gave cocktail maestro’s Mixology a list of anti-oxidants to see if they could conjure up some anti-ageing tipple's to enable you to party like a rock star - guilt free!
1. Pomegranate and Mint Sling
This is the perfect anti-oxidant tonic. Pomegranates are high in ellagic acid, protecting the skin from UV damage it also aids digestion, eliminates toxin and helps you destress too - result! Green tea is rich in flavonoids, which help protect the skin against ageing as well as reduce skin damage caused by the sun.
Ingredients
40mls Gin
50mls Organic Pomegranate Juice*
2 Lemon Wedges
Green tea syrup**
8 Mint Leaves
Method
Add mint leaves and green tea syrup to bottom of tall glass and give a small amount of maceration being careful not to shed the mint leaves.
Squeeze the two lemon wedges into the glass and drop the wedges into the glass, this will allow some of the oil to come out of the skin.
Pour gin and brew for 2 minutes allowing the ingredients to infuse.
Then pour organic pomegranate juice in with broken ice and churn ingredients for 30 seconds.
Top the drink up with more broken ice and garnish with a slapped Mint sprig.

2. Blackberry Sunset
Blackberries fare a lot better under the influence than the intern at the company picnic. A recent study found that adding ethanol - the type of alcohol found in vodka - to blackberries and strawberries boosts their antioxidant levels. This recipe gets an extra dose of anti-oxidant vitamin C from the citrus juice.
Ingredients
1 medium handful of blackberries, muddled
1 medium handful of strawberries
1 oz lime juice
1 oz lemon juice
3 oz vodka (or sake)
Prosecco (or sparkling white wine) to taste
Method
Divide muddled berries between 2 tall glasses.
Fill glasses to rim with crushed ice.
Combine next 5 ingredients and pour over ice.
Top with splash of Prosecco.
Makes 2 servings.
